Long Distance Coaching

Returning home from a therapeutic experience needs assistance.

For those graduating from a program, it must be understood that the love, energy, finances, and hard work is high at risk. Research demonstrates that nearly 90% of those returning home from a therapeutic experience eventually return to some form of treatment. The chaos that ensues is greatly under-reported but painfully felt.

Programs are greatly challenged in continuing substantive support for the transition home. What they do well is providing a safe and secure environment allowing the family to make important discoveries and receive valuable treatment. However, they are not designed nor experienced in facilitating a successful transition home that leads the famly for a successful transformation. They are challenged with the demands in their program and do best keeping the attention for those in their care. It just makes sense.

Therefore, the transition home from a therapeutic process must build on the care, hard work, and attention that the family has undergone. Attending a program requires great time commitment, severe disruption to the family constitution, and a significant financial burden. The transition ought to become “transformational.” Protect the investment and build forward instead of relapsing, which is more the case.
